The Versatile Blogger Award!

I received my first blogging award thanks to A Mom from the burbs! Thank you very much for passing the award on to me.

Here are the rules:

       1. Thank the person who gave you the award.
       2. Share 7 things about yourself.
       3. Share the award to 15 other bloggers who you have recently discovered and think are fantastic. Link to each of the recipients and let them know they've won.

Step #1 - Thank you again to A mom from the burbs! I love reading your blog.
Step #2: I'll do my best to answer all 7 questions for step 2:

  1. I have only been blogging for about a month now, and I am still trying to juggle everyday tasks with the daily blog posts. (I write them in my head all day as I change diapers, nurse, and clean house!)
  2. I was born and raised in the South and don't have plans to live anywhere but the south!
  3. My daughter, Emma Kate, was born via C-Section (emergency after 13+ hours of labor!)
  4. I met my husband on a blind date and we got married 7 months later! Our daughter arrived 4 years and 1 day after we were married.
  5. Sewing, crafts, and home design are a passion.....I am trying to get my new website/etsy shop up and running soon!
  6. I am the oldest of 3 children, therefore a natural "mother hen".
  7. My husband and I love to workout together, cook, and spend time with our little blessing! We are BIG on family time and spending time with our families!

Poem for all those SAHM

Song for a Fifth Child

By Ruth Hulburt Hamilton

Mother, O Mother, come shake out your cloth,
Empty the dustpan, poison the moth,
Hang out the washing, make up the bed,
Sew on a button and butter the bread.

Where is the mother whose house is so shocking?
She's up in the nursery, blissfully rocking.

Oh, I've grown as shiftless as Little Boy Blue,
Lullabye, rockabye, lullabye loo.
Dishes are waiting and bills are past due,
Pat-a-cake, darling, and peek, peekaboo.

The shopping's not done and there's nothing for stew
And out in the yard there's a hullabaloo
But I'm playing Kanga and this is my Roo
Look! Aren't his eyes the most wonderful hue?
Lullabye, rockabye, lullabye loo.

The cleaning and scrubbing can wait till tomorrow
But children grow up as I've learned to my sorrow.
So quiet down cobwebs; Dust go to sleep!
I'm rocking my baby and babies don't keep.
